Withdrawal Phase: 8 Inevitable Things You'll Experience After ... Posted: 08 Sep 2014 07:58 AM PDT So, I've recently just came back to Hangzhou. I came back with so much stories to tell and write about, photos to edit, and loved ones to give updates to. I also came back feeling a little bit different than I was when I left, because I've learned and experienced so much in the past month or so. I can't wait to plan my next adventure to see what else is there for me to discover and learn. It's such an overwhelming feeling to come back after travelling, really. It's almost like trying to get over an addiction. Anyways, as I said, there's still a lot of stories to tell, but I feel like I need to cleanse myself from my travel bug before I write about my other misadventures in China. Meanwhile, I present to you with this list (complete with pics and gifs!). I bet a lot of you can relate to this ;) 1. You once woke up startled, thinking you're gonna miss your flight/train/bus You'll be sad there no more train to catch, but on the bright side, you get to press that snooze button again. 2. You wish you'd have a plan to hike another hill or visit another museumWhat you wish you're doing: What you're actually doing:
3. Having to catch up with people and not knowing how to answer the question: "How was your travels?"How do you tell someone all the feels you get hiking up Tiger Leaping Gorge? How do you tell someone about the delicious Sichuan hotpot that almost killed you in the bathroom? How do you describe to them the lessons you've learned? HOW?! HOW?! HOW?!!! It's just so hard :( 4. You're sad because there's no local specialty to try out
But I bet your local takeout place is ready to welcome you back. 5. Going through facebook profiles of people you met on the road to see where they are now…And feel insanely jealous while missing them at the same time. They be all like: Meanwhile, you're like: 6. Feeling weird to wake up alone in your room instead of in a hostel dorm with 5 other people![]() source: loveforthestreets.blogspot.com Strange as it seems, you actually miss that snorer or being woken up by the rustling sounds of someone packing for their next destination. But, seriously, though, hostels are the best thing about backpacking. It's where you meet a lot of amazing people, who might just end up being your friends for your partner in crime :) 7. You kind of miss being asked the same questions over and over again![]() Imma try answering with cliche's like this next time Where are you from? How long are you travelling for? Where have you gone to? Why did you decide to travel? Where are you going to next? *10 questions later* Wait, what's your name? 8. You're already planning for your next adventureYou may not know where or when. But, you're sure as hell know you'll be going somewhere. ![]() |
