| Adventure Time! | From <b>Nasi Padang</b> to Dumplings Posted: 25 Jul 2014 01:29 AM PDT I suppose today is the day summer holiday officially starts for me. I went to my last summer course class with little to no motivation at all. It's like that last day in high school before summer where you just look at the clock tick away, and when the final bell rings to book it out the door. Yeah, it was that kind of day for me. Tonight I begin my first leg of the journey to Chengdu, where I'll meet up with my parents and my brother. It will be the start of my 40 days of adventure time, in attempt to discover another side of China. My route will look a little bit like this: Hangzhou – Chengdu – Lhasa – Chengdu & Jiuzhaigou – Kunming – Dali – Lijiang – Guilin & Yangshuo – Hangzhou  Would've taken 192 hours to drive this route… It looks a little bit insane, now that I look at it again. But, I figured, why not. Who knows when I'll be able to visit these places again :) This trip will be quite a milestone for me, as I'll be travelling solo from Yunnan onwards. It's something I've always wanted to challenge myself to do, and I hope the extrovert in me will take the alone times well. Anyways, I'll try my best to keep things updated here. I'm not taking my laptop with me coz it'll add another 2kg into my load :( Hopefully I'll still be able to update and upload pictures somehow, though! Right now, I'm not really sure what to expect, I've heard loads of good things about my destination, and a lot of warnings because its peak season for travels. So I guess all I can do now is just cross my fingers and hope everything will turn out all right! Have you been to any of the places in my route?
